About Our Farm Life
Welcome to Our Farm Life—a space where the rhythms of the farm meet the simple, intentional choices we make every day as a family.
This site began as a way to share our journey toward living more naturally—through the food we grow, the meals we make, and the homemade remedies we rely on. Over time, it’s grown right alongside me. Today, Our Farm Life isn’t just about what happens in the garden or the barn—it’s also about the quieter, often unseen work of being a wife, a mother, a maker.
Here, you’ll find a mix of practical how-to’s and honest reflections. You might land on a post about companion planting, flip through a guide to herbal oil infusions, or come across a quilting project stitched together during a snowy winter afternoon.
While our family lives on a working dairy farm, you don’t need to be a farmer to feel at home here. Whether you’re growing food on a balcony, learning to bake from scratch, or simply trying to cut out a few toxins from your home—I hope you find something here that makes you feel inspired, capable, and not alone in the process.
This is Our Farm Life—through my eyes. Thanks for being here.
About Me
Hi, I’m Amy!
I’m the voice and writer behind Our Farm Life. I live with my husband and three children on our dairy farm in rural Southwestern Ontario, Canada. For all your gardeners, that puts us in a 6A hardiness zone (based on the USDA hardiness maps). I am a self-taught gardener, and I am dedicated to continuously learning alongside you all. I have been farming full-time with my husband since 2007 in a rented dairy facility. We built a dairy barn on our farm in 2009 and have been working hard to improve the operation since then (it's an ongoing, never-ending process!) In addition to full-time farming, I have taken several herbalism courses, am a certified aromatherapist, and love to quilt in my free time (usually in the winter!)
